By This Stream

A hundred years ago, there was a man from the city who had never known anything except lights, traffic, and lots of people. Taking stock of the days he had spent and the days he speculated he had left, he began making a plan. He took a week to decide. He left on a Tuesday - took a train out West and only packed what he thought he would need in a small travel bag. He knew he’d know the exact spot as soon as he saw it, and indeed he did. He exited the train, purchased a pair of boots, a heavy coat, and a pair of work gloves and lived by this stream at the base of the mountain for the next fifty-seven years.

Oil on prepared paper. 6”x8”. Painting only - frame not included.
